An International technology business requires a Service Technician in Newcastle.

This casual role offers an hourly rate of $53.75.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Service and Lead Technicians in diagnosing and repairing pneumatic and electro-pneumatic valve control systems.
  • Diagnose faults and repair electric (220VAC 1ph and 380VAC 3ph) actuation systems.
  • Undertake small design and fabrication tasks as required.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of maintenance procedures, focusing on electrical, mechanical, and automated valving.
  • Execute workshop practices proficiently, adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Follow instructions from senior technicians, aiding in the repair of various valve types including PRV, PSV, and control valves.
  • Prepare and clean components as directed, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Accurately tag and fit nameplates to assorted valves.
  • Manage daily activities to meet customer and company requirements, adhering to goals set by the supervisor.

Improvement Focus:

  • Suggest and implement cost-reduction initiatives and technology improvements.
  • Regularly review and propose enhancements to existing processes.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures while fostering strong working relationships with all team members.

Other Duties:

  • Report time and work details according to company quality systems and processes.
  • Maintain physical fitness to manage the manual handling of equipment.
  • Communicate issues clearly and collaborate with teammates to meet delivery targets.
  • Support OEM service strategies to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery in alignment with company policies.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Requirements:

  • Understand and comply with the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures and practices.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and daily planning sessions.
  • Always work safely, adhering to EHS best practices at both internal and external work sites.

Profile

  • Mid-level experience in a similar role within the equipment servicing industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and automated valve systems.
  • Proficiency in workshop practices with a methodical and safety-conscious approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
  • Physically fit to handle manual tasks.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet targets.
