About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Ministry Assistant to join our team! You will be responsible for assisting the Central VIC Salvos Team Leader with the delivery of the mission through development and facilitation of Ministry in an integrated setting. You will be responsible for a team of Staff and volunteers and become a part of the Corps Leadership Team.
Reporting to the Central VIC Salvos Team Leader, this is a permanent full-time position, based in Castlemaine, VIC.
You will successfully
  • Volunteers are recruited, trained and effectively engaged
  • Risks to participant, workers and TSA are identified and brought to the attention of and incidents are managed in accordance with TSA processes
  • Participate in appropriate funding activities as agreed with the Central Vic Salvos Team Leader
  • Pastoral care and discipleship activities are undertaken as agreed with the Central Vic Salvos Team Leader
  • Collaborative relationships are maintained with relevant community groups and organisations for example, municipalities, police and local schools
  • Programs are monitored to ensure they operate within agreed budgets
  • Guide and lead the Family’s ministry team

You will have
  • A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army
  • An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
  • Experience in a Ministry position (desirable)
  • A solid understanding of TSA Doctrines & Principles (desirable)
  • Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based groups
  • A member or soldier of a local Salvation Army Corps
  • Enrolled and active Solider of the Salvation Army - preferred
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check
  • A current Victorian Drivers licence
