About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for an Electrical Trade Trainer to join our Maritime Australia business on the Hunter Class Frigate Program based at Osborne, Adelaide. Reporting to the Electrical Trade Manager, you will be part of an inclusive and supportive team, and will be employed on a permanent full time basis.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight.
BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to design and deliver the world's most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.
Key responsibilities include: - Contribute to the electrical trade training activities, support developing a qualified and experienced electrical trade workforce, meeting current and future program objectives
- Develop, deliver electrical trade training and workplace inductions, using contemporary learning and assessment strategies, while adapting to different learning styles
- Guide, develop and mentor the electrical trade workforce in best practice within a shipbuilding environment
- Develop and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and industry partners
- Assess and monitor learner progress and performance in line with business requirements and electrical trade frameworks/standards
- Provide reporting on the evaluation of learner performance, and provide ongoing validation of training programs
- Provide information and advice on electrical trade training and assessment services
- Apprentice management and development
About YOU
- Extensive electrical trade experience and an electrical trade qualification
- Whilst not essential, previous shipbuilding experience will be highly regarded
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support technical workforce learners and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
- Self-starter, a continuous improvement mindset, and a solutions focused approach
- Whilst not essential, technical trainer/instructor experience or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent), will be highly regarded
- A commitment to undertake and obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
